Ms. Amanda Schutz
Hello Sauganash Families! I am Amanda Schutz, your new 2nd grade Writing teacher. I am thrilled to join #TeamSauganash! In May of 2021, I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University and in the fall I started my career at Ebinger Elementary as the English Language Coordinator and Teacher. During my time at Ebinger, I worked with K-8th graders with a wide range of English proficiencies. I also started the International Club and coordinated an international postcard exchange with a Japanese classroom- what an awesome experience!
This will be my first year as a second grade teacher, and I am excited to see what this year has to offer. Teaching is my passion and I truly love being around the students. They make me laugh one way or another every single day! I am a Chicago Northsider born and raised. I love to take my fur baby, Cody, on long walks and seek out fun flavorful restaurants in our culture vibrant city. If you know of any scenic walking trails or delicious restaurants, I would love to hear your recommendations! I am looking forward to shaping the big minds of young learners!
