Ms. Groulx
7th Grade Homeroom & ELA/Writing
Hello! My name is Sydney Groulx, or Ms. Groulx (pronounced “grew”, think Gru from Despicable Me). I am ecstatic to join Sauganash this year as an ELA teacher on the upper grade team! I am incredibly passionate about all things reading and writing, and can’t wait to work with all of the dedicated students and staff at Sauganash. I recently graduated from the University of Michigan in May, earning a Bachelor of Arts Education degree with an English endorsement. During my time at Michigan, I had the opportunity to plan and instruct courses at 5 different schools in the Ann Arbor area, including regular and honors level English, Creative Writing, African-American Literature, and AP Language and Composition.
I grew up in Oak Park, IL, right next door to the city. I have always loved living near Chicago and exploring all of the amazing things that the city has to offer! I particularly love walking or bike riding down the Lakefront Trail, and I also love discovering new restaurants. In addition, I enjoy watching football and basketball games with friends and family, where you’ll see me rooting for the Michigan Wolverines. Go Blue!
I can’t wait to begin the school year here at Sauganash! I truly look forward to meeting you all.
