Hello! My name is Krista Evans, and I am absolutely thrilled to join the Sauganash Elementary community as the 6th grade reading, writing, and social studies teacher. I have taught middle school English Language Arts and social studies at CPS for the last ten years, in addition to teaching four years at a suburban Catholic school. I graduated from Dominican University with a major in English Education in 2008 and later received my Masters in Teaching English Language Learners from American College of Education. As an educator, my mission is to inspire students to become avid and enthusiastic readers, empowered writers, and critical thinkers who value lifelong learning.
When I am not at school, I can most likely be found chasing my two rambunctious (and adorable) toddlers around or meandering the aisles of Target, enjoying a rare moment of solitude. My favorite things in life are my family, traveling, reading, and teaching. I am looking forward to a terrific school year and forming meaningful connections with my students and their families!
