Hi! I am Andrea Allegretti the school counselor and case manager at Sauganash Elementary School, where I have held this position for the past 11 years. Prior to coming to Sauganash School, I was a Special Education Coach working in Area 1. I was responsible for professional development and compliance in the schools on the north and northwest side of Chicago. Before that I was a special education teacher in an instructional classroom at Canty School. Prior to teaching at Canty, I was employed at Beaubien School in a similar position.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Illinois, my first Master’s Degree in Special Education from Concordia, second Master’s in Administration, also from Concordia, and my third Master’s in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. Lastly, I received my National Board Certification in 2010. I have lived in Sauganash for over 20 years, which sure makes my commute to work easy! I have four adult children and two amazing granddaughters. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, movies, musicals, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
