Hi there! I’m Marisa Owen, and I’m looking forward to another wonderful year at Sauganash School! I am the 3rd and 4th grade writing and social studies teacher. I graduated from Butler University (Go Dawgs!) in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and minors in English as a New Language and Mild Intervention Special Education. I spent a semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy in 2019. I joined the Sauganash team in 2021, and am a Calm Classroom school facilitator. I love art, and teach an after school art class! My goal is to make learning an exciting, inspiring, and meaningful adventure. I live in the Lincoln Park area, and love spending time at the lakefront. When I am not at school, you can find me traveling, spending time with my two Golden Retrievers Cali and Ivy, practicing yoga, and making pottery. I can’t wait to embark on another year of learning and exploration! ​
