It is a pleasure to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at Sauganash Elementary School. I’m excited to join the team and help support the continued success of our students! I have enjoyed a fulfilling career with Chicago Public Schools since 2006. I began my journey as a classroom teacher, fostering a love of learning in young minds at a wonderful Southside school. During this time, I also served as the Lead Literacy Teacher, where I developed a deep understanding of effective instructional practices and supported colleagues in their literacy instruction.
In 2018, I transitioned to the role of Instructional Support Leader for Network 1, where I gained valuable experience in supporting school improvement initiatives and collaborating with school leaders and teachers across the network.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Michigan State University, a Master of Arts in Reading from DePaul University, and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University.
I'm a Michigan native who has called Chicago home for the past 18 years. I love exploring the city and discovering all it has to offer. When I'm not at work, I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. I'm also a passionate sports fan, always rooting for my favorite college and professional football and basketball teams.
I am thrilled to join the Sauganash team. I strongly believe in the power of high expectations, strong relationships, and engaging instruction. I look forward to collaborating with faculty, staff, and families to build upon the strong foundation that has already been established at Sauganash Elementary School
